Custom Job Board

Transforming a generic application form into a role-specific recruitment experience

I designed and built a custom job board that allows candidates to explore individual opportunities and apply directly to specific positions across Strategic Kids’ regional operations.

I owned the information architecture, user experience, interface design, job-listing structure, application workflows, technical setup, and implementation.

The Challenge

Strategic Kids’ website previously relied on a single application form that presented open positions as a list of radio-button options. Candidates had limited information about each opportunity and no way to explore individual roles before choosing one.

The structure also prevented the recruitment team from linking directly to specific openings through social media, digital advertising, employee referrals, and other outreach.

My Approach

During the Strategic Kids website redesign, I replaced the generic application experience with a centralized job board featuring dedicated listings and applications for each position.

Each listing gives candidates access to role-specific information, including responsibilities, qualifications, schedules, pay, and location. Individual URLs also allow the company to promote specific openings and direct candidates to the most relevant application.

The new structure created a clearer path from discovering an opportunity to submitting an application while making the system easier to expand as new roles and locations are added.

The Outcome

From January through August following launch, applications submitted through the company website increased from 293 to 472 compared with the same period the previous year - a 61% increase in website applications year over year.

The project transformed a basic application form into a scalable recruitment platform, improving how candidates discover opportunities and how the company promotes and organizes its open positions.
